Back in early summer 08 Jonathan George completed his type rating onto his Rotorway Exec 162F G-JONG here with us at Southern Helicopters.  Jonathan took the unusual step of buying a nearly completed kit from a private builder in the U.S. it was soon clear to him that although the build standard was quite good many areas needed work so he stripped it back to its bare parts and rebuilt it as a new kit.  

This may have made him more work and taken longer than building from a new kit but this did not bother Jonathan.  He had built several aircraft before and with his good engineering back ground he looked forward to the challenge. 

He is now very pleased with his well built and finished helicopter which really does fly well.  
He flies quite often and has put many hours on the machine in its first six months.  His other aircraft, a Jodel now has to take second place to his Rotorway, the grin on his face says he is really enjoying his rotary flying.
